Whether it’s designing smarter policies, leading game-changing programs, solving real-world problems, or getting creative in the classroom — the Food Systems Dashboard has endless possibilities, and your imagination is the limit.

You can submit text, images, videos, or anything else that tells your story. We’re looking for bold, fresh ideas that show how the Food Systems Dashboard is helping you create a better future.

  • For narrative submissions, please limit text to three pages. For video submissions, please limit the length to ten minutes.

The Fine Print

FOOD SYSTEMS DASHBOARD CHALLENGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
This document sets out the terms and conditions which apply to and govern the relationship between the organizers (including The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition ("GAIN")) of and applicants in the Food Systems Dashboard Challenge (or the "Competition"). Registration for the Competition is deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
1. ENTRY CONDITIONS
1.1. Applicants are only eligible to participate in the Food Systems Dashboard Challenge if they meet the following criteria:
1.1.1 Are 18 years of age or over. In the event of submission by anyone under 18 years of age, parental consent is required.
1.1.2 Are not members of the Food Systems Dashboard (FSD) team, including the Global FSD team and all Country FSD teams.
1.2. Applicants are responsible for any and all costs that they may incur while participating in the Competition.
1.3 Applicants warrant and represent to the organizers that they own all rights (including intellectual property) in the material they submit throughout the Competition.
1.4. The organizers have sole discretion to disqualify and/or remove any individual or team for any reason that they deem appropriate before and/or during the Competition. All decisions regarding an individual’s or team’s removal and/or disqualification from the Competition are final. Judges’ decisions are final.
2. CONFIDENTIALITY AND DATA
All applicants should be aware that finalists’ submissions will be presented publicly and the confidentiality of applicant's identities or their submissions is not guaranteed in any way. Any and all of the public presentations may be broadcast to interested persons through promotion and media which may include print, radio, television, social media and the internet.
Any data or information included in submissions should be considered information that will likely enter the public domain, and applicants should not assume any right of confidentiality in any data or information included. NonDisclosure Agreements (NDAs) between an applicant and the organizers and/or judges will not be required or allowed.
The organizers (including GAIN) shall have no liability in respect of any claims arising out of or in respect of any confidentiality issues (including but not limited to any breaches of confidentiality obligations) relating to the Competition and will not be involved in any way with disputes arising therefrom.
3. PRIVACY
In the context of the Competition, the organizers will have access and collect some personal data to capture stories of how people are using the FSD (the “Purpose”). By signing these T&C you authorize the organizer to process the personal data for the Purpose, including transferring it to the partners involved in the project. 4. PUBLICITY AND PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES
Each applicant acknowledges and agrees that:
a) the elements of any material submitted by them in connection with the Competition, including concepts, names and logos, can be used in the public domain on the Food Systems Dashboard website and all other forms of advertising relating to the Competition;
b) their name and image (whether in photographs or videos or otherwise) may be used by the organizers in any promotional materials, including on the website(s) and social media platforms used to promote the Competition; and
c) should they be awarded a cash prize pursuant to clause 7.2 then winners consent to the organizers using their name and image in promotional materials, including on the website(s) and social media platforms used to promote the Competition.
5. INDEMNITY
Each applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the organizers (including GAIN) from and against any liabilities, losses, claims, demands, costs (including legal costs) and expenses arising in connection with any breach or alleged breach by the applicant of any representation, warranty, term or condition (including these terms and conditions) applicable to registration or participation in the Competition.
6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entrant that, in the judgment of the organizers, has violated the rules of the Competition or is not aligned with the purpose of the Competition.
This Competition provides the opportunity for applicants to present their stories and the organizers assume no responsibility to ensure the confidentiality of any information disclosed during the Competition. Applicants register and participate at their own risk.
The organizers shall not be liable for any damage, loss or injury suffered by any applicant by reason of registering and participating in this Competition. The organizers shall have no liability for any applicant's loss of income, loss of opportunity, personal injury and damage to property, whether direct or indirect, consequential or foreseeable, whether due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
The organizers accept no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise. The organizers have no control over telephone communications, networks or lines and accept no responsibility for any problems associated with them, whether due to technical malfunction or otherwise. The organizers are not liable for any consequences of user error including (without limitation) costs incurred.
Each applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the organizers (including GAIN) from and against any and all losses, damages, costs, expenses and liabilities whatsoever (including reasonable attorney's fees) brought by a third party arising out of, or in any way connected with the entrant's involvement in the Competition, including in respect of an applicant's breach or alleged breach of a third party's intellectual property rights.
7. AWARD DISCLAIMERS
The organizers intend that there will be a maximum of ten (10) winners (the "Winners") of the Competition. Three (3) winners for the global Food Systems Dashboard and one (1) winner for each of the subnational country Food Systems Dashboards (Bangladesh, Kenya, Indonesia, Nigeria, Mozambique, Pakistan). The organizers reserve the right to reduce or increase the number of applicants selected and designated as Winners, at their discretion. Judges have the sole responsibility of and discretion in selecting winners and the judges' decisions are final. The value of these prizes is to be at the sole discretion of the organizers.
8. FORCE MAJEURE
8.1.1. Force majeure means any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the organizers, including but not limited to war (declared or undeclared), acts of God, epidemic, pandemic, riot, terrorism, earthquake, accidents, explosion, fire, floods, abnormal weather conditions, acts of Government or other agencies, strikes, lock outs or other industrial action or trade disputes (except where such relates to employees or agents of the relevant Party). The organizers shall have no responsibility or liability to an applicant or Winner for any force majeure which affects the Competition or the Travel Prize in any way.
8.1.2. The organizers shall, at their sole discretion, be entitled to cancel the Competition if, in the opinion of the organizers, a force majeure event has rendered it unsafe, impractical or impossible to continue or if the Competition has been delayed by a force majeure event.
9. LAW AND JURISDICTION
These terms and conditions and any non-contractual obligations arising out of, relating to or having any connection with these terms and conditions, their performance or any breach thereof, are governed by Swiss law. The governing language of these terms and conditions is English. In the event of an inconsistency between the English language version of these terms and conditions and a translation, the English language version of these terms and conditions will prevail. Any dispute, claim, difference or controversy arising out of, relating to or having any connection with these terms and conditions, including any dispute involving any non-contractual obligations or any question regarding the existence of these terms and conditions, their validity, interpretation, performance, termination, or any breach thereof, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of and resolved exclusively by the courts of Geneva, Switzerland. Each applicant irrevocably agrees not to dispute the jurisdiction of any such court to resolve such dispute, claim, difference or controversy.
