Subscriptions to a public mobile telephone service using cellular technology, which provides access to the public switched telephone network. Includes post-paid and prepaid subscriptions.

Relevance

The number of mobile cellular telephone subscriptions has been included in the computation of food system resilience as a proxy for countries’ infrastructure level as well as a direct indicator of response capacity.
