Definition

Percentage of women 15-49 years of age who consumed at least five out of ten defined food groups the previous day or night. It is associated with a higher probability of nutrient adequacy for 11 micronutrients.

Relevance

MDD-W is a food group diversity indicator that reflects micronutrient adequacy, summarized across 11 micronutrients. The proportion of women aged 15-49 years who consume at least five food groups out of ten is a proxy indicator for higher micronutrient adequacy of diets among women in the population.
