Children (6-23 months): Minimum acceptable diet

Definition

Proportion of children 6–23 months who receive a minimum acceptable diet (apart from breast milk). A minimum acceptable diet is defined as meeting minimum diet diversity and minimum meal frequency.

Relevance

The minimum acceptable diet indicator captures a child’s diet as a proxy of energy adequacy and micronutrient density.
