Zinc sorghum

Definition

This indicator highlights countries where biofortified zinc sorghum have been developed and released for sale.

Relevance

Biofortified crops are crops that have been bred using traditional methods to deliberately increase nutrient content. Current evidence suggest that consumption of biofortified crops may reduce micronutrient deficiencies in at-risk populations.

Treatment of Missing Values

Countries with missing data do not have biofortified crops released for sale or are countries for which no evidence indicating work on biofortified crops could be identified from the survey or desk review.
